Hi Smiley

For the third time in three days (taking the ctrl+c/v approach to introductions) I feel all sweaty like I'm at alcoholics anonymous or something...

Hello....my name's Marion....and I'm an occultist!

*much cheering, round of applause, quick bow*

Thought I'd stick my head 'round the door - I'm an avid member of UK Pagan (shush at the back there!) but discussion on certain topics are in short supply - so yesterday I joined Occult Corpus (spin off of Occult Forum?) and have been happily rolling around like a pig in the proverbial...uh, mud, ever since  Roll Eyes I've currently got rather a lot of time on my hands and an empty house, so for the first time in quite a few years, my mind has been wandering magic-ward.

I'm 26 (for another month), British but currently living in Kigali, Rwanda on a contract with the National Association of the Deaf for a couple of years. I made a living flapping my hands about in the UK so thought I might as well do it somewhere else - yes, I'm a flapper.

Ahem.

I was brought up a healthy heathen lassie (not in the Norse sense), had me knickers down over a coupla standing stones and never baptised lol (gosh, maybe I should be in the alcoholic's meeting!?) But also had the good fortune of knowing some sterling people and being born with a curious mind - I grew up for a time in Leicester and a love of Hinduism remained with me, I later spent many a night lying on the couches of Buddhist centres (Colchester & Croydon notably) trying to lose my ego (didn't work!  Cheesy ) - I developed a healthy interest in Chaos Magic (hats off to Phil Hine who is not only a prolific writer, but a cheap one) and Ritual Magic (although having boobs I have to admit to feeling slightly out of place in that sphere). I think I probably did what most occultists do - I satisfied my curiosity  Tongue

My serious love is of global shamanism and shamanic dreamstate - endogenous (dreaming) and entheogenic.

Anyhoo, that's about me. I'm a prolific waffler so best I keep it brief. I look forward to exploring the site and getting to know people - and, as ever, soaking up the subtle and informative vibes.

Ooooooommmmanipatmebum....

Marion.
