Funny, i was just thinking - wouldn't order be the disorder of disorder?  I think order only happens on accident, and people who are addicted to it are gambling addicts.

I consider myself a witch.  My training in Wicca brought me much joy for several years.  Too much white light from too many Wiccans directed me to search further into the occult sciences.  Having explored for a long time I found that Chaos magic and theory, which provided what I had lacked in magick.

For a long while chaos magic by itself fulfilled my path.  However, I did miss a connection with the deities of the Egyptian Pantheon.  I struggled with this and actually made my first post on this board about the possiblility of combining witchcraft and chaos magic.  By happenstance, that same day, Phil Hine replied to an e-mail I sent him regarding that very subject.  His positive reply gave me the validation to continue to follow the chaos path at the same time combining elements of witchcraft.  You can find his reply under "general discussions".

I've lived for 46 years, and have been self employed most of my life.  I work out of my home in a business that my wife and I own.  Raised Jewish,  after having a crisis in my life in my early thirties with no spiritual support from the "temple family" (the exception of them wondering if I would be paying my Temple dues....grrrr) I came to Wicca, which eventually led me to Chaos.

That's the story in a nutshell and using the best e-prime I can muster, which wore me out.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone (especially the Psychonaut alumni). I have not had much time for magic having just gone through the highly ritualized ordeal of buying a home. Hope everyone {is} doing well and hopefully I should have more time to hang around soon. Site looks great by the way!

Who do we claim to be? Very interesting question.

I claim to be whatever suits my purpose on most occassions, and claiming to be human is usually enough to get me into trouble. Graduation into "Talking Monkey" seems to alleviate the pain.

I have adopted various titles through my occult wanderings: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Dr. Spooky Booty III, and of  course KaosX sometimes preceded by Frater which is silent. I am simply a Mage, an explorer in the void, as I presume most of you are. I am often asked why I call myself KaosX - which is a good question. While sitting in a park, minding my own business, happily reading through Pope Pete's Liber Null many years ago, a man approached me with an enquiring mind. As this young man proclaimed, "Allah be cursed at your blasphemy!" I laughed and became overwhlemed with a visioin of Malcolm X (for no good reason). I walked away laughing - I rarely find it interesting to entertain fundamentalist ranting - feeling blessed and inspired with a name: KaosX. I typically stick to the sig Kaos on forums and such as I realized those who wear an "X" on their name usually get shot, and I have all the holes I need for now.

I am a practicing magician of 14 years which means I know enough to know I'll never know it all - and that is lovely.  Grin I found this forum quite by accident - a link on a list of links and by random chance this link won my attention. I am familiar with the MLA; however, I never enrolled in any courses - I own half the texts they teach out of anyway. I'm curious what everyone thought of the MLA. RAW is one of my many heros so I can't imagine it as a bad thing!

At any rate, no more babbling from my sleep deprived mind.

And the wheels on the bus go round and round ...

At the moment, I seem to be a human as far as looks go.  Pleasure and pain may have been experienced and remembered.  I might die someday (if I haven't already).

Some of my beliefs change with the cross referencing of new information.  Some of my beliefs stay about the same.  I spend a lot of time studying humans and the origins of their beliefs.  I don't spend enough time being human.

What interests me that I can't even remember joining this group yet I somehow got invited, now that appears well spooky. Hmmm, "Good One" as an old German Jesuit Travelling Showman said to me, poor fecker thought the world would cave in ala Y2K. Sunspots did me in as well and that bloody Solar Eclipse got hailed by a specially brewed cup of fine British Tea! As I consider myself a chaote or a post-modern dafty I'm happy to stay here if I can. Hmmm - did I get too stoned that other night?! So hello there!  Wink

Hello everyone, I'm PopeNorton. (Catch the in-joke there?)

I'm currently sailing on the good ship Psychonaut 2,though we're set to dock at the end of the week.
Looking forward to having a 'round or two with my fellow voyagers, and possibly learn some new Chaos Magic techniques as well!

Hello everyone,

I'm Ann, and also here from the current chaos course. I'm just taking in all the information presented to me at this point, and definitely interested in continuing my studies, so I'm looking forward to this as a useful resourse!  Smiley

Hello there gentlefolk!

I felt tempted to indulge in the original MLA course, but had to put it aside due to time pressures. I endeavoured to keep an eye out for re-runs, but what with coordinating a Cthulhoid event in August, and spending a large chunk of September-October in Japan, I missed the Oct-Nov course entirely. On the up-side, I spotted this wee forum mentioned on Specularium, and thought I would drop in.

I read my first books and articles on chaos magic about twenty years ago, and began practising then and there. I still maintain a playful curiousity as regards magical models, which I share with friends and colleagues in my own corner of Brigantia. I alternate in gaining inspiration from ancient pre-Christian magics (such as those of heathenry and late-antique Egypt), and from contemporary thought.

I look forward to reading some of the posts here, and exchanging ideas.

Kind regards,

Hello all. I found a link to The Ideosphere on Phil Hines site and thought I'd take a look, seems like a nice place, I think I'm going to like it here.
After years of downright idleness spent reading and thinking about it I've reached a point where the only thing to do is have a crack at some practical Magick. "The stars are right" as some dead bloke once said, time to roll m' sleeves up and have a go.
Although I've not really had any practical experience, I've tried whenever possible to "make gaps" in my everyday life for Magick to happen in, given the dreams and synchronicities of late I'd say that Ixpapalotl wants me for a sunbeam Smiley Shocked.
Anyway I'll let you know how I get on, I've had a quick look around the site and I think I can learn a lot in here. Smiley
