As a follow-up to my Googlemancy post I've found a site that has some interesting tools that may have divinatory uses. I see many, many more uses for these tools, but Divinations was the 1st that jumped into mind.

Google Talk

Use Google talk by entering three or four words below. The system will search for this sentence at Google, find the next word and print that. Than it will remove the first word of the search string, add the found word and repeat. The result seems to be meaningfull sometimes. Other times it is giblish. But always fun.

Visual Poetry

Poetry is supposed to project images in your mind. VisualPoetry translates any text into a series of images by looking up the words on Google image search and projecting the most relevant results as a slide show.

You can use it to view your favourite poem as a series of images from the Internet to amuse yourself or you let other people guess which sentence or poem is displayed. Or you can just marvel at the weird pictures streaming from the Internet to your computer.

You can find a few more on the main GoogleHacks webpage. Have fun with them! Post results!

I've posted a result from GoogleTalk. The first 3 words (ambrose bierce magic) comprise the seed string:

Quote
ambrose bierce magic N. An art of Living. I let it run until I started getting recursive results. Be careful! If you hit the stop button you will erase the generated text. So I did a "right-click / select all" and a quick "Cntrl-C" to copy before it updated. Took some timing. I think I'll run this result thro a Burroughs-Gysin Cut-up app.

I think with some refine-ment of the technique, some interesting results may auto-generate.
