Servitor Creation Difficulty

I've been working hard at evocation for about 2 years and haven't gotten many results. I don't know if the error is in my gnosis or my technique.

I've been attempting to create a servitor specifically for the purpose of magical protection against malicious forces of all types. It's a very wide, open-ended, non-specific servitor but with very specific characteristics. I'm not very keen on creating a material basis for the entity or using the standards of servitor programing language. I seem to get much farther when I don't.

Having become rather adept at dream control I have had the specific goal of having the entity mannifest itself here for dialogue, instructions, etc. Whatever the case. But it seems to rarely cooperate or even show up. I'm begining to doubt its existence at this point which could - in-turn - be causing this deteriorization.

Does anyone have a fool-proof, yet powerful method of creating servitors of this type? Something that even a neophyte shouldn't have too much trouble with? I adapt to the techinques of other magicians well.

i was having similar troubles (maybe i still am), but i found that when i stopped worrying and focused more on a childlike state of mind it really didnt matter. im having so much fun with evocation type ideas that i seem to be more carefree, and inturn, lucky. being a neophyte myself, i find i need to emmerse my self in creative joy, and the analyzing results faculty will show its ugly head in do time.
